Problem: We use a lot of electricity and our roof would not accommodate a large enough roof top system. We researched the big box solar companies and most wanted us to execute a lease and all of them only talked to us over the phone. We knew a lease would save some money, but we wanted to own our system and have free electricity after our system was paid off.
Solution: The SolarPlus team met with us one on one, explained their process, presented financing options, showed us the products they use, and designed a system to save us money. We purchased a large ground mount system to really save money. They presented our proposal to the Town of Lagrangeville and attended all the board meetings to get the project approved. They worked with the state for incentives, and Central Hudson for approvals, and installed the system in time for us to receive our tax credits.
Benefit: Our loan payment is less than the money we are saving from Central Hudson. We own the system and it increased the value of our property. Millbrook Family Eyecare, Millbrook, New York
Problem: We needed a new roof on our office building in Millbrook and we wanted to install a solar system to substantially cut our energy costs. We looked at leasing a system but we are believers in ownership. We know nothing in life is free as the leasing companies claim.
Solution: John Holzberger, a patient for many years, recommended SolarPlus to us since he was thrilled with the work they did for his home. The SolarPlus team met with us one on one, brought in roofing specialists from SRK Roofing to help us decide on the roofing product to install, and presented products and financing options to meet our needs. As a business, we qualified for a New York State loan program to assist with paying for the system. The SolarPlus team managed all the subcontractors, permits, rebates, loan process, utility paperwork, and they installed the system on the new standing seam metal roof.
Benefit: Not only are we saving money on our Central Hudson bill, but now our patients come into the office, see the solar system’s performance metrics on a display monitor hanging on wall. They get to see the amount of electricity we are generating and saving. It’s great to feel like I’m doing everything possible to conserve energy.
